Traditional music from Scottish and French traditions is alive and well in eastern Canada. This week we hear from Canadian performers such as Natalie MacMaster, Jerry Holland, Barachois, The Cottars, and The Duhks.

Our occasional survey of these classic folk ballads of the British and Irish Isles, collected by Professor Francis Child in the late 1800s, continues this week as we find new recordings of the old ballads continuing to turn up.
